A medium sized, umbrella shaped, tan to brown cap.  The ends of the cap roll inwards, the underside and stem are white.  Shiitake mushrooms will enhance the taste of most foods.  They are also tasty by themselves, and can be cooked in several different ways.  They accent vegetables, meat, seafood, poultry, and even other mushrooms.
